Pike River Miners

New Zealand is mourning after the loss of 29 miner’s lives in Greymouth on the 24th of November 2010.

There are so many of us that have watched the situation that unfolded from Friday last week, hoping that the outcome was that they would all come out safe and alive but alas it wasn’t to be…

I didn’t know any of them and yet found my thoughts filled with hope of their safety

The impact of their loss will be felt in so many ways by their families, friends and the communities they were a part of…...they left for work last Friday never once imagining they would not be coming home.
